Minnesota Wire & Cable Acquires New Production Facility
In response to its rapidly expanding business in numerous markets, Minnesota Wire & Cable Co. has acquired a 58,000 square foot manufacturing facility in Eau Claire, Wisconsin. The building, built in 2000, is on a 4.6- acre lot with an additional 2.1 acres south of the building. It is conveniently located for customer access in Gateway Industrial Park near Interstate Highway 94 in Eau Claire.

The acquisition of the new factory building more than doubles the production capacity of the company. Revenues for 2007 have increased by nearly a third as MWCC continues to have a record-breaking year. The company was recognized by Twin Cities Busines Magazine as the “Best Move” in manufacturing for its embrace of high technology government R&D that has led to innovative products such as “stretchy wire.”
The new space will also provide for the current and future focused work cell needs of the increasingly demanding and diverse customer base of MWCC. Recent projects have included a multi-million dollar manufacturing order for interconnect systems on the Army’s new MRAP (Mine Resistant Ambush Protected) vehicle system, and a host of custom orders for the medical and other markets. Production will begin in earnest in the new production facility in late 2007.
