Congressman Mark Kennedy visits Minnesota Wire & Cable Co.
The morning event included 20 business and chamber of commerce leaders from the Twin Cities who were eager to hear Congressman Kennedy’s views on the role the U.S. Congress can play in promoting businesses and job growth. The hour-long “roundtable” session included a brief on MWCC’s recent successes in the medical and defense markets by Chairman & CEO Paul J. Wagner, remarks by Congressman Kennedy, and numerous questions from the business leaders regarding Kennedy’s senate campaign, and his views on business. “I want to drive an environment in this country that supports innovation and a level playing field for businesses. That means things like less intrusion by government, and more tax incentives that will encourage innovation and competition,” said Kennedy. Following the roundtable discussion, the attendees received a brief tour of MWCC’s St. Paul headquarters, where they were able to see first-hand robotic machinery acquired thanks to favorable tax policies, including accelerated depreciation on capital equipment.
